I came across this poem about recipes at Heart4Home. I don't claim to be a cook at all and always need a recipe to follow. It has proven to be frustrating at times when I ask my mother or sister for a recipe that they make and they can't give me much of a recipe to follow as they just say they make things up as they go along and don't really follow recipes.

I on the other hand always have to follow recipes and even then they aren't always guaranteed to work out as they should. LOL... I don't substitute like this poem states but was still funny to read for a laugh all the same. Cooking will never be my forte that is for sure. I gotta keep trying though.

I didn't have potatoes,
so I substituted rice.
Didn't have paprika,
so I used another spice.
I didn't have tomato sauce,
so I used tomato paste.
A whole can not a half can -
I don't believe in waste.My friend gave me the recipe -
she said you couldn't beat it.
There must be something wrong with her,
I couldn't even eat it.
